ALD Checker Gambit

Gambit presents the Checker Collection in its most literal and graphic form. Four alternating quadrants of diamond pavé and polished black create a miniature checkerboard across the dial, transforming the surface of the watch into a study of symmetry, contrast and repetition. The absence of conventional hour markers allows the composition itself to dominate, while Dennison’s signature sits discreetly within the lower black quadrant.

The pattern extends into the diamond-set case, deliberately blurring the distinction between dial and exterior architecture. Rather than treating the case as a frame, Gambit incorporates it into the visual rhythm of the watch, creating a continuous relationship between surface, setting and form. The precision required for the four sections to meet cleanly at the centre gives an apparently simple graphic an unexpectedly intricate execution a playful idea resolved with exactness.
